As long as the heads are completely stock you should be just fine.

Its my understanding that the T-Rex was designed to be just about as big a cam as will fit under stock heads.

Pretty much. It's huge!

I am far from an expert, but I'd wait for somebody who can verify it will fit under LS6 heads as well as LS1. Or try and find it through search. I don't know. BUT what I do know is that the LS6 is listed as having a slightly smaller combustion chamber. 64.45 cc vs the LS1's 66.67 cc. Given that, it might be a tighter fit.

I believe that the smaller combustion chamber is due to the shape of the chamber. I do not believe the valve seats are any closer to the deck. But I am not an expert either, and I would agree with blkZ28spt's suggestion of looking for someone who can verify that itll fit. You could always call up thunder.

I emailed thunder the same question and they said it would be a tight fit but should clear.

On zo6vette.com there was a guy who thought it would fit and ran it anyway on his zo6 with ls6 heads, few miles later he is rebulding the motor because valves were kissing the piston. FLYCUT! even if it clears, FLYCUT, that way you know it will clear and not be so tight.

With this cam, clearances are so close that it MUST be degreed upon install (you must get an adjustable timing gear set), and installed to spec. Lining it up dot-to-dot and calling it good is not acceptable. Gotta be careful.

There is a reason that people didn't think the G5X3 would fit on a 112. It used to be borderline common knowledge that the X3 wouldn't fit on a 112. Or so it seemed......
