My tavia one works pretty well but I wish there was some way to make the hose shorter or at least have a short peice that was easy to plug into the spark plug holes and then quick connect to a longer hose.

hey guys whast the difference between a dual gage tester, and a single gage tester casue the one at summit are like $90, and autozone has some single gage compression testers for like $30 plus they also loan them out for free.

The dual gauge tester shows air "line" pressure on one side and your pressure drop on the other.....the single gauge requires you to set your line pressure at a given number (like 100 psi) and when you actually perform the test the same gauge will drop to show you the "leakage" figure. Rocket science.

Not 100% sure on how you do a leak down test. I think you need an air compressor, fill the cylinder up with air and see how it holds the pressure.

A compression test on the other hand is simpler but doesnt tell you as much. You just put the pressure gague in the cilynder and turn it over, and see how much pressure it builds.
