cam install
cam install i'm about to purchase a cam, and i was just wondering what all i need to do it right? it's not a big cam so i don't need headwork or anything. but one person told me i needed jus the cam, and somebody else told me i needed new springs, hardened pushrods, head gaskets, water pump gasket, and a mandatory tune 
. i've got a m6 so i'm not too bad worried about the tune right now, but can somebody please clue me in...thanks

I'd also invest in a cam degree kit. Always degree the cam.
Lining up dots doesn't ensure proper centerline phasing.
If the recent posts in this forum aren't enough to justify the cost, I don't know

at a minimum, you need a spring kit, hardened pushrods, water pump gaskets, timing cover gasket, crank pulley bolt, and the cam. whats recommended to do at the same time is a timing chain, and ported ls6 oil pump, i didnt on mine and now i have to tear everything back down to do it again. degreeing the cam is not required, but its good piece of mind, most ppl dont do it.
