MAF Sensor Question
car: 1999 z28 m6 61k miles
My car has a nasty hesitation between 2,000 and 3,000 rpm. I think I managed to narrow it to the maf, however by stroke of luck my dad had a granatelli maf from an 01 z06, doing some quick research I found that it will fit my car, so i put it on and the car ran great, i then got a ses light and did some more research. I then found that it IS NOT the right sensor, however the car runs better (although my gas mileage has gone straight to hell) I unplugged the sensor completely and the car seems to run about the same. Can a bad maf cause the hesitation i am describing? Would running no maf get rid of it even if the gas mileage is bad? If I think a new upgraded proper maf will fix it I will pony up the dough, what do you guys think?
Thanks!
