Unhappy Oil in heads.......?????

I have got a good idea of whats wrong but alot of you guys have much more knowledge than me.

First off the car would idle fine, but would not take any load what so ever. The motor was built wrong. It was supposed to be 11:1 but is somewhere south of 9:1, it was supposed to be NA with the possibility of spray. He used Diamond -8.6 cc dished pistons when I wanted flat tops w/valve reliefs. He used TRW rings on my diamond pistons, and he also used the Eagle 6.100 rods instead of the 6.125, gaskets are .054 felpro's, and the heads are TEA 5.3's milled .010. Motor only has 1,7xx miles since rebuild.

I pulled the heads off yesterday, and granted the PCV didn't look like it was in good shape, the heads were coated with oil, especially on the intake side, I mean covered, the intake also had a good amount of oil. The car never let out any white or blue smoke from the exhaust.

How bad is this, and what can I do to fix it. I don't have a high pressure pump, just an SLP Heavy Duty oil pump

Oh yeah, I get 2 codes, P0336 Crankshaft Position Sensor (performance), and the old P0300 misfire. I checked 1 set of valves and they look just fine

Aside from knowing the motor was built wrong. Sounds like PCV and/or valve stem seals. Get it inspected by someone who knows what they are doing.

Valve stem seals looked good, I had them checked. Would PCV cause that much oil, there was alot.

Also, tons of people run with breathers instead of a PCV, correct? What kind of filters are you guys using for this?

Was the oil in the intake runners or in the combustion chambers? If it was in the intake runners then its likely coming in from the intake. The PCV is a good candidate there.

Could the PCV cause that much of a problem? There was a TON of oil in the intake, and intake runners

The pcv is where it comes from. I canceled it out and run small k&n breathers off the valve covers.

but is this the only problem, why do I have such a high crankcase pressure? I even blew out a valve cover gasket once about 1500 miles ago. Motor only has 1700 miles on it.

If you have excessive crankcase pressure then you have a lot of blow by on those pistons. Either they didn't seat correctly, the rings have too much gap, or busted ring lands. Most likely it on of the first two. Try a leakdown test.

PCV and large ring gaps. You said he set you up for N2O right? Larger ring gaps are needed for N2O but they will blow by a tad more than stock rings. If you street drive a lot run the PCV with a catch can and put a breather in place of the oil cap. Disconnect and plug the fresh air PCV hoses and ports. Fresh air will now be drawn in from the breather on the oil cap.
