Default everyone with pp stage 2 5.3 heads needed

what cam are you guys running. stangkilr and i just traded cars and currently the car has patriot 5.3 heads comp 230/220 .581/.581 112 lsa (which was a custom grind for another car) longtubes, lid, 3500 stall. that car is not daily driven. i want a recomendation on a cam from you guys. i have been searching am considering a tr230 and tsp 228 any others you can think of. i want to stay right in the middle range for a cam nothing small and nothing huge. thanks steve

Running a TSP 231/237 112*. Seems to work well, better then the small TR @ 224.

i used to run the same heads and a 231 / 237. with all bolt ons i got 448 / 410 out of it. it was a nice combo for the street and strip. nothing too radical and nothing too lame. This was a M6 though. not sure what some of the A4 guys are getting out of it.

wish i could go bigger but my heads are cut and im not sure how much bigger i can go

car runs good though, has gone 11.5 @ 121 on a 1.68 60'. itll go faster

well i think i am going to do the tsp 231/237 cam, tsp ported pump, comp oe lifters, and ls2 chain. any more suggestions would be great. i talked to trevor at tsp he said to use the torquer rev. 2 cam which if i remeber is a 232/234 .598/.595 112+2 any one here currently running it or used it. thanks guys

Why not see what your combo does now and fine tune it? Then if not satisfied at least you understand where you stand.
That Comp cam is a powerful cam with XE-R lobes. With good exhaust flow and good headers, I'm sure it will perform within the power range of all the cams mentionned above by other members.

the in it now is fun but is was custom made nitrous cam for some one elses car. it put down 367/341 on the dyno and went 12.3 @ 110. that cam is not taking full advantage of those heads. i know alot of it is in the tune. but there is alot more power to be gained from a cam swap.
