Default Intake Question

I have been looking at the little package deal from SLP that has the lid, k&n filter, cold air intake, and smooth bellow for like $265. it says something like 25hp which is probably not even close to what it will actually do, but is it a good invesment on a pretty much stock 98 T/A. or is there something else i should be doing first, or another brand that i should be looking at to give the same performance #'s for a cheaper price.

A new air lid is by far the best first and easiest mod to do. However I would get a TSP lid (sponsor here >>). They fit good and generally will give you a 10-12 rwhp gain.

Go with a lid and work on saving up for a catback next, then some long tubes. Don't go with SLP they are way overpriced on a lot of their stuff. Check out all the other sponsors and you will see some good deals. Search the boards as well and see some popular combos.
