Default Eagle cranks?

Seems like Eagle cranks have a bad wrap here on LS1Tech... any reason? have people had bad experiences with them?

I know there are awesome deals out there on Eagle 4" stroke LS1 cranks... sometimes you get what you pay for... and sometimes you get a deal!

Eagle used to have problems. They are now resolved. Many reputable sponsors build great motors with eagle components.

They caught a bad rap when the were first released for the LS-1's. The had some problems that have since been re-called and fixed. Almost every sponsor now uses them for there budget stroker kits. If your gunna run big power adders, I still recomend something better like Callies or Lunati.

Would you run an Eagle assembly with a 150-200 wet shot?

O yeah the eagle rotating assembly would be more than enough for a 150-200 shot.Keep in mind the stock LS1 crank will hold a crap load of power so anything forged will be significantly better.

I am assembling an ls2 with a 4 in eagle crank and 6.125 eagle rods. I am using mahle pistons and there was a clearance problem with the counterwts hitting the bottom of the piston. I had to remove .050 from affected counterwts and have crank rebalanced. I now notice that Eagle uses 6.2 rods in the 4 inch rotating assemblies. Live and learn. I wonder if Eagle uses a larger counterwt to save money on balancing with mallory metal? Other than that the dimensions on the mains and rods are nuts on and it seems like a quality item.
