If you go longer like 6months do you think it hurts the engine?

No, 6 months ain't gonna hurt anything... I drive my car around 5k-6k a year, with lots of track duty (go to the track at least twice a month). I change my oil every 6 months... once before racing season, and once after.

A good oil to use for longer oil change intervals is something like Amsoil's new extended life 5w30. It's meant for 7500 mile/6 month intervals. Since you drive your car so infrequently, a 1 year interval wouldn't be out of the question either.

If you only go 600 miles per year, but everytime you drive your car you get the oil good and hot, you could most likely go 2 or even 3 years between oil changes. I'm not kidding. I've seen oil analysis results on rarely driven cars with that kind of driving pattern and the oil is still in good shape.
