I would not be driving that thing if you're getting 0 psi at idle. I'd try and figure out the problem before you ruin your engine. It could be a couple of things

a) your oil pressure sensor is bad
b) one (or more) of your bearing is screwed, therefore causing loss of pressure
c) something is blocking the flow of the oil near the pump possibly

Make sure none of those are true.

no ticking or knocking, etc?

Could be the oil pump O-ring....if it gets pinched in there you lose pressure like a ****...

For your sake I hope it not because thats a lot of work for a stupid cheap O-ring

As far as I know, it should be making some racket under the hood if it is the o-ring, so if its nice and quiet then you should be able to exclude that scenario, though...

ttt...

well does it purr? or is it noisy?

If its quiet then it could be the sensor, but if you didnt have that problem before with the guage, then I dont see why it would be the sensor....but stranger things have happened... You could try replacing the sensor, but I would wait and let some oter guys chime in...

Like I said, wait and see what everybody else thinks, thats my opinion, but someone else might have some specific insight on this, etc..

But if the sensor is cheap, heck why not try it?
