fly cutting pistons?

Default fly cutting pistons?

im just wondering how much it will cost to have my pistons fly cut and do i have to remove the pistons from the block?

cost would depend on where you take it, if we are doing a heads and cam install we charge about $250.00 to fly cut the pistons also.
the pistons do not need to come out but the heads have to come off.
you can rent the tools and do it yourself, it is not hard just a bit of a pain in the butt. also it takes awhile to do.

not to hijack but is there any risk in fly cutting? downsides?

I fly-cut my own pistons... I have to assume you could cut in the wrong place or cut too much (weaken piston top). I did mine in 4 hours taking my time and measuring several times before I cut each piston...

I paid $250 at Rapid Motorsports to have my pistons flycut .050...that was in the fall of 2003.
