warning light?
warning light? lately, my "change oil" light has been coming on every time i start my car, and it stays on for about 2 minutes, and then it goes away. Its a 2001 SS and i've had it for about 2 weeks. It started about 4 days ago. I checked the dipstick and oil looks clean (not dark at all), and is in the "okay" range. Any ideas? Its boggeling my mind and i'm wanting to make sure its nothing serious or something that needs a major fix
If you don't reset the light when you change your oil, it will come on at times when the oil shouldn't be changed. It comes on depending on mileage and driving style. Also FYI, you can't tell anything by looking at the color of your oil.

turn ur key to the on posistion without starting it so that ur accessories have power. Then hold down ur trip odo. reset button for 15 seconds and u will see a flash on the gauge cluster
