Default I need to tone down my car

so I'm thinking of putting my stock 196.37/208.72 .464/.479 LSA 115.92 back in my car.

I'm just curious on how much hp I will lose to have a nice mellow car again

Current cam TSP MS3 237/242 .603/.609 lsa 113, I also have a 224/228 .581/.588 lsa 112 sitting in my room.

I would like to see if I can run 11's n/a with my stock cam, but I also have the 224/228 sitting here, which would work really well with my heads.

What do you guys think

I have the car all apart, just need to pull out the MS3 and put one of the other cams back in what to do

well im not exactly as to why you would want to do this? makes no since to me, dont take **** to run 11s NA on stock internals except a really good 60ft and boltons. If you want to have a calm idle, then atleast go with the Cheatr cam.

I just don't want to spend anymore money, plus I already have the car apart.

BTW, the reason this is I'm going to be a dady in October and need the car to be reliable and wife friendly to drive

Trust me man, it takes much more to run in HI than you think. Not as bad as Colorado, but close.

Damn here I am screwing around with my street-friendly combo to try for 11s before the track closes down and there you are going 180 degrees in the opposite direction. We should just swap cars!

Right now, I have that TCI3500 staring at me, waiting to be put in. But my current cam/gears/stock TC setup is feeling pretty well balanced on the street. Tap the accelerator a little quick and the tires break loose. Very responsive throttle feel that I kind of don't want to give up. So what, when do you want to trade?? j/k

What other mods are you planning on changing? This will help in trying to find a balanced combo that will work towards your goals, instead of hinder you.

224/228 sounds good, shouldn't be nearly as rough as the MS3.

Why dont you sell the 224 and the MS for $200 each (they would go quickly at that price)...then you will have enough to purchase a CheaTR or Stealth II, with little or no money out of your pocket.

I wouldn't put the stocker back in. That's such a huge step down in power. 224/228 sounds like a good compramise. Running 11's NA SI isn't exactly easy.

so this is your only vehicle then? i kind of know what you are going through, except I ended up selling mine all together for something more "kid friendly" with 4 doors, can go anywhere and no way I will spend money to mod it.

If you want to make the most money off this deal you could demod it completely to stock, including the exhaust and sell it all. Then if for some reason you do decide to get something else that you think your wife would like better, trading in or selling a stock car in good condition is probably a lot easier, or you could always start up modding again a couple years down the line. Good luck with it all, its not easy to go backwards.

BTW, congrats on being a future father

Put in an LPE GT2-3. It'll be very wife and kid friendly and still make close to 400 HP.
