What is your definition of "real well"? What are you looking for.....driveability, power?

Minor to no valvetrain upgrades? Why bother with heads/cam and not upgrade your valvetrain???

What tranny? What gears? Have supporting power mods?

I must agree.
At least get a spring kit.
What I would do is save yourself the 900-1000 dollars on the LS6 heads your buying and buy a set of heads from a sponsor.
For example TEA has a stage 1.5 head that is a 5.3 casting. It is completly ported and polished and comes setup to run damn near any cam you would want. Titanium retainers, Gold sprinds, better valves etc.
Those are 1550 plus a camshaft.
You would get much more power out of these heads then stock LS6 heads.
Look around. TEA, Patroit, and quite a few other companies have very good priced heads.

I bought a set of 2001 ls6 heads and plan on going with the gm asa cam. It works with the ls6 springs and they should last forever. I think the hot cam would work well too. The heads are gonna be milled to up the compression to 11:1.

I think this combination should be good for 60-70rwhp over a bolt on ls1.

I second the ASA cam if you're not changing valvetrain.
