The cam is made by futral motorsports, who is a sponsor here. www.futralmotorsports.com . They are known for making cams that idle extremely well, are very streetable, and make tons of power while maintaining lots of torque on the low end. I have the F11, which is a 228/230 .575/.595 112 LSA, here is a vid of my idle. Idle at 800, M6.

I'd go at least mid 230's.
I wish i could do that I need to visit Jeremy, but things keep coming up

even though your cam is "bigger" than my .224 it idles alot smoother than mine. was this your first cam in an ls1, if not what did you run before this one? your dyno numbers, are they from a mustang dyno or a dynojet?

Futral's cams are known for their smooth idle, specifically because of the Cam Motion cores that are used as opposed to the Comp cores and lobes used with many other vendors. The car drives like stock and doesn't have any startup or idle problems, and has tons of low end torque. The F13 will also idle almost identically to mine, so I would definitely get it if you were picking a cam. The only complaint I ever hear about Futral's cams is that they end up idling/driving so well that people wish they would have picked one of the larger ones such as the F13/F14. The only reason I don't have the F13 in my car is because it wouldn't fit under my heads with the 2.05 valves.

This is not the first cam in this car, the previous was a 212/236 that did around 406rwhp with some mildly worked heads. Keep in mind I have heads with this current setup as well, but people typically see numbers between 395-415 with the F11 and F13 cam only in M6.

Here is the graph from my dynotune, done on dynojet, 4.10 gears and very heavy wheels.

I must agree. The idle on my F-13 is SO smooth, that i wish i had a BIGGER cam. But at 2600 rpms, the gloves are off.

what do you guys think the power difference and driving characteristics are between the f13 and f14 cams. like power band rpm, hp, torque, idle rpm.
my .224 xer cam has a real lumpy idle how would these two cams compare?
