What is your cam base circle? What is your head gasket thickness? What was your stock head gasket thickness? What lifters? What rockers? What length are your valves if those have been changed? Have you checked your rocker tip wipe? You may need to shim. If all is totally stock (cam, lifters, and rockers), the stock pushrods are 7.380" so milling .030" should put you at 7.350". I would measure to make sure. A lot of bad stuff can happen if it's not set up properly.

May be the safest bet to get a pushrod lenght checker to be on the safe side.
If you are using the stock camshaft and all you did was mill the head then you can normally figure 30 shorter on p/rods. I would probly start off with a 25 shorter p/rod.If you change headgaskets and valves ect..of course the thickness of the headgasket will need to be taken into consideration.then at that point you might even need a 50 shorter.good luck!

If your 98 heads still have the notch after milling, you cannot use the GM MLS gaskets. You will leak coolant.

Just look at the pic above. Then look at your heads, If that notch is still there, then 97-98 gaskets are to be used.
If that notch is gone and surface is flat, then it is OK to use the new style.

I forgot how deep that notch is but IMO .030 mill would still have it.

I found out that some sponsors weld the notch when they prepare the heads. So that is why they say the new gaskets can be used.
Just inspect your heads for that notch if there or not.
