Default Oversized pistons?

Newby here. Can the 5.7 be bored? Are new sleeves the way to go? Just curious. Haven't seen too much piston talk. I noticed some pistons available a few thou bigger than others. Are they hone to fit? Clue me in please.

Welcome to the list. The search button will bring up many answers ---------------^

Look up JRP's FAQ, and awesome GAQ by the way, you will find answers to many questions in that thread alone.

BTW, yes they can be bored, but it's expensive.
97-99 blocks can only be honed .004", later years can be bored .010"

The ls1 can not be bored but it can be honed. Your stock 5.7 is a 346ci it can be honed out to a 347ci or a 3.905 bore from the stock 3.89XX I would sugest you have a mechine shop hone your block out.

P.S. where is longview if it is close to DFW i can give you some help.
