if force induction is your thing....either motor will be nice. MAke sure both are forged bottoms, are built by reliable builder and (futural, HPE, etc) you should be game!

But, im bit of a nutcase and i would go bigger!!!! How about a 402 or a 408ci iron block, AFR heads or lq9 stage 3 heads, 9.1:1 or 8.8:1 compression and with this kit

http://www.4redlinemotorsports.com/ls1turbopage.htm

You would have to relocate the a/c...

Also the incon kit is nice....why not a procharger f-1? Im not trying to start the whole which is better but i would like to have a f-1 on my 408ci, intercooled with my headers and enjoy all power!!!

BUt again, a 347 forged bottom has a short stroke and it SHOULD yield a safer high boost application but with a 383, you wouldnt need to boost that much to get the same power levels...

i hope i helped...or at least get the ideas flowing....
