Default Loose Rocker Arm?

when i installed new springs i was retightening the rocker arms and one of them was fully tightened but had slack, meaning you could rock it back and forth from pushrod to valve spring. is this normal and if not what is wrong with it?

no that is not normal at all, perhaps a bent valve is keeping the spring slightly compressed? measure the height of the spring in comparison with the others. if that isnt it, pull the pushrod and make sure it isnt bend, and that its the same size as the others.

edit: sounds like you're having a bad night

lifter, thats what i am doin right now, not too hard, have patience. i had the EXACT same problem. the thing that sux tho is having one of them turned, like me.

hate to throw it out as the first cause, but sounds like the problem, to me at least.

i did find a pin bearing in the oil pan, could this be from a lifter inturn causing the lifter not to push up and creating slack to the rocker arm?

i think no oil pressure has something to do with spinning a bearing but i could be mistaken.
