Carmen's a good tuner so he should fix you right up. I would also go for a set of 01+ injectors since you don't want to spend alot of $ right now. They are good as stated above for around 450rwhp. Might find some in the for sale section too. You'll likely feel a real increase in performance, engine smoothness and all around driveability after your tune.

Well guys, turns out I was worried for nothing. The guys who said I was running VERY rich were 100% correct, and this past Friday after some METICULOUS tuning by Carmen at the Vette Doctors, my car put down 433RWHP with the Cutout CLOSED and 397ftps of Torque at 6500RPMs. With the cutout open I would have been over 440RWHP (forgot to remind him to uncap it during the tune and by the time we had the car unstrapped off the dyno it was too late).

Thanks to EVERYONE who contributed advice on this thread, this car is so much fun to drive its amazing now. Pulls hard in EVERY gear and will snap your neck into the seat when you dip into the throttle. I absolutely love it!

Carmen at the Doctors is the man by the way, highly reccomended if anyone is considering a tune in the area. It took me 3 hours to get there with traffic and Id go again in a heartbeat. VERY satisfied.

Thanks again everyone!

What was the duty cycle of your injectors?

This is why I tell people not to worry about a damn thing until its properly tuned. This isn't the first time that tuning made such a huge difference.

Great numbers.

Stock 99 have a capacity of 26.4 lbs @ 4 BAR (58 psi)

The duty cycle at WOT (wide open throttle) on your motor should not exceed 80% of that capacity. If they do, they will work but eventually get tired and fail (that could lead to a lean condition and kill one or more of your cylinders).

So with 433rwhp, You must be over that 80% for sure. Invest in some injectors to prevent future damage. You can get the % from live monitoring with LS1edit, HPT etc... Or ask whoever tuned your car if they happened to pay attention to that. You could even have a couple of more ponies hiding somewhere..

what did the heads flow at and what compression are they for? what cc? 38# injectors would work good for you, i assume i should be close to what you are at in my car and i am 65% duty cycle with 38# before really getting high rpms in this bad boy.

let me know about the heads im interested in how this compairs to my set up, id like to get 430-450 range out of mine that would be nice. do you have an ls6 intake or lsx?
