Default In Limbo For Cam Choice

I currently have the comp xr269hr. I have LS1Edit tuning, descreened MAF, K & N FIPK kit, TB Bypass, Pacesetter Longtube headers, 3 "ORY, 80 series flowmaster, and 26918 comp springs with hardened pushrods.

I am looking at the TR224 112, FM 2, FM 4. I can't decide which one to get. I need a broad powerband for the street, but retain good times at the track. Will be putting in 3.73 gears from motive and a cutout in it soon. The goal is 390+ for rear wheel power and torgue. WHat do you all think?

You won't make 390 rwtq. What are the specs on your current cam, the xr269hr? What do you make with it?

You may or may not make 390 rwhp with a ~224 cam, but there is a decently good chance. I assume you have a manual transmission?

Current specs are 216/220, .529/.534, 114LSA. I put down 361.8 RWHP and 362.9 RWTQ. I want to keep a similiar powerband, but at least 15-20 RW power. I need more jolt in the powerband with a slightly more aggressive lope.

Check out the F13 230/232-595/585 112 or 114LSA. You will get the powerband you want and it is a very good street cam too. Track time's will impress you.

Is the LSA only going to be the idle difference? I.E. 112 more choppy.

The 112 is more choppyer and it sounds sick. If you go with this came you will fall in love with it or if you give ALLEN or CANDY FUTRAL a call and they will help you pick that fit's your need's. But F13 rock's.

I think the cam you have can get you there look at thunder racing dyno sheet. Heads and muffler would get you there. Plus if you get the larger cam your in the new springs every 30k or so.

Here's my idle clip of the F11 on a 112 LSA. Sounds VERY tame and drives like stock on the street.

I'd go with the F-13 or one of Futral's other grinds. I'm very happy with mine.

Here are some clips:

Default 1.8 Rockers

I have the XR269HR Cam 216 220 LSA 114 with 1.8 Yella Terra rockers. I have a 25% UDP and over radiator air intake. Its mafless tuned with a heap of timing. Using the LS1 intake and S3 type 75mm TB i have run 11.765/115mph at 3625lb. My converter is a Yank SS3600.

It would run under 11.50 if a little lighter with SS4000 and 4.11s.

Happy with it. Revs straight to a 7000rpm limiter.

Gets 25-28mpg on a trip and idles at <700rpm

I am not against the F13 at all. I am however concered with the stock bottom end on the car. I want the car to last.

Why wouldn't the bottom end last?

F13 looks like what you are looking for, or thereabouts...

What I am about to say is very simple and safe. Trust me!

Keep your cam and use NITROUS OXIDE. The NX MAF kit is the best.

I want natural, raw power, not instant fake power.

You will not get much more seat of the pants raw power with just a cam change. Bigger cubic inches and good heads work much better but are very expensive.

Nitrous feels like a big cubic inch motor ripping down the track. Its not fake.

Streetable cam upgrade with a set of heads and a qtp cutout are in the slightly near future. 3.73 gears are waiting to go in also.

There is no such thing as "fake power".

Well, no point in disputing it, but look at it this way. I am not getting NOS, but when the bottle runs out, the power runs out. With my way, the power maintains until the gas runs out.
