who will port 241 casting heads?
i have a 02z28.. so i have 241 castings on the car.. however i just now bought some for 125$.. well i locked in the deal.. havn't paid or recieved yet, but its a buddy of mine so its as good as done.. heads have 12k on them as mine have 44k so this will be better i guess plus i can send them off to be done while the car is still rolling, and not have much down time, then just sell my stock ones once there swapped out! this sounds like a good plan to me.. now who will port them? i know bo white was doing a fine job, but isn't doing it anymore.. who else will do it around that same price..
are there any good guides online for me to read? so i can get my dremel and go at it lol?

What you need a good CNC job or an excellent hand porting. Not so simple as you think to port your own heads.
Also you'll benefit more by changing valve size. 2.02, 1.57 + CNC is a good stage 2.
MTI, LME, TEA all do good work.

i have a 4000$ cnc machine..... why couldn't i use that... combined with hand porting? is this so far fetched?
how much am i looking at spending to get a company to do them... i realize larger valves is going to cost money tho.. futral wanted 950 like i said..
bo white used to take 650$ which was a helluva deal with stock valves tho
ive read thru my searches, that stock vavles are better for lowend tq

I see what you mean. so basicaly you want a stage 1 porting, and you want to mess around with it yourself.
I have an article about that with a few pics of areas to be careful with. I'll have to have access to a scanner. Might take a day or so.
I repost when I have that info scanned.

yea any advice or help or pics would be greatly appreciated.. basically i just want better flowing heads.. ive invested only 125$ so its not a big big deal, but if i could make 10-20 hp more on motor and or spray that would be great for 125$, plus i might just learn a lot for future heads, a real set when i have the money.. that is all im looking to do.. learn and perhaps gain a lil power.. thank you

Do a search on home porting, you should be able to find all the info you need. I home ported mine and left stock valves in. It's not that hard, but it is work and it will take some time. You have 16 ports to work on, each with five or six areas to grind, smooth, and polish. You will need a porting set with carbide burrs and sanding rolls, and a good air die grinder. Be sure to use soap or WD40 to keep the burrs from loading up with aluminum. I don't think it would worth it to develop a CNC program to port only one set of heads.

If you would like I can port your heads for you while porting the PRC heads. It will be the same port we run in all the 5.3l & 5.7l PRC heads I'll cut both of them for $400
message from a sponsor... not gonna name names but does that sound good?

I can do a variety of port jobs for you. A stock valved head with a stage 1 setup will go about 275/205. I can also install the larger valves and mill if needed. If you havent bought the heads yet I would suggest going with a 5.3 casting. I can supply these with stock valves for $200. Prices start at $400 shipped for stock valves. Give me a call if you have any questions
another sponsor.. these are the leading two right now? what do you guys think... i like the sound of the same port as the prc heads.. sounds like its done by a machine and not so much guesswork..
should i have the heads milled any?
