Part number of camshaft sprocket??

Part number of camshaft sprocket?? Here's the deal my dealer ordered me a camshaft sprocket for my '98 T/A LS1. Got the part in and it is GM part # 12576407 .
It LOOKS like the camshaft sprocket for the new LS2 engine - it has a raised semi-circular part (hard to describe) which looks like it is made for the newer motor with the cam sensor on the front of the engine ?
I looked up the sprocket number on GM partsdirect, and it says the proper number is 12552953.
Called the dealer and they say that part # 12552953 has been replaced by #12576407.
Can anyone confirm this?
Need to know if this sprocket will work on the LS1 or not, would be nice to know before i get the motor torn down for the cam install !

Enter the old number on gmpartsdirect then add it to your basket. You will see that it changes to the new number. The dealers computer does the same thing. Many times when GM releases a new part that will work on older applications, they discontinue the old part. Just like the new waterpumps with the new T-stat housings. That's all you can buy from GM now.

Digging this one back up for an answer Sorry about bringing this old post back from the dead but I'm wanting to know if the 1X crankshaft sprocket (for LS2's) will work on my LS1 engine in my GTO. I also ordered the part (same as the picture above) and got the updated sprocket. Any help advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Yes, the raised cam gear works on LS1's...no problems.
