Default A4 / Rapid Cam Dyno Numbers

First test of our new grind 226/226/114 cam. Car is a 2002 WS6. FLP's with cats through a Magnaflow exhaust (no cutout). TCS 3800 converter was unlocked for these tests. Not too bad for a first go. I think what impressed me the most was the driveability. It idles close to stock.

Not too bad. What size stall, and what is the lift? I have a 226/226 114 w/ a .570 lift and a Vig 3200. Was going to put it in with some heads this month, but I'm getting deployed. It's good to hear the idle is smooth. Any surging?

Mike did u tune this setup yet?
Those are excellent # for the mods listed.

I only made 335RWHP with boltons ans a 218 cam.
U did the install way back.

355 is very impressive.
It did seem to peak high but without locking the verter thats not a indication of true peak rpm.Its probable closer to 6400...

JS </strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yes I tuned it. Notice that the dyno stops sampling at about 7200. The rev limiter is set to 6800 and I did not hit it on any of the runs. The graph is skewed by about 500 rpm. Peak on this cam comes in at about 6200 rpm.

This is with the TCS converter which I always said was very efficient.

Looks good Mike <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

I have a question, is this a Comp cam with XE-R Lobes? I have been researching cams (Hope to install one at the end of next season) and this cam is very close to what I want. I am looking for a cam that is very streetable on 114 LSA and moderate lift, but my biggest concern is valvetrain wear. I dont want to replace valve springs every 20K. At this point I am leaning toward the B1 221/221 .558/.558 on 114 but this cam may be a good alternative for me if it has less aggressive ramp rates. Let me know what you think.

Thanks,
-Nick

Do you have comp (or someone else) making proprietary lobes for you similar to the way TR has their own lobe profiles?

.580 is pretty close to the XE-R lift. Is your .006 duration pretty similar to the XE-R?

I have a 228/228 114 XE-R coming soon. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
