About the long block I blew the car up and just purchased an 04 model LS6 long block from Pace performance because it wasnt very nmuch more than the LS1 if any and came with Camaro oil pan. About the power I didnt think it would hurt.

All you need to do is lower the main ve table on the 400-800-1200 columns. Set the idle to 850 rpms. I think I pulled out about 9% on the main ve table on buddies car. Idled good with those changes.

As for the cold start issue, is your throttle body stock? If not, pull it and make sure the hole for the IAC motor is atleast 3/8" or better yet 1/2". I had a throttle body with very small IAC hole, once I drilled it out, idle and surging went mostly away, and what was left was easily tuned out.

Oh Nos!!!!!!111111one11

Hopefully at least it idles like a champ now, no?

You had the copper tubing in there, no? Anyway, why not re epoxy it now? Make sure you score up or better yet notch and knurl the area where the epoxy needs to stick to. I used plumbers putty to take up the bulk of the space by laying some about the size of a pat of butter. I then lubed up two pens to make the holes (you may want to use a marker for the IAC) and then put more plumbers putty in there to get the basic shape. I then pulled out the pens before it hardened. After the plumbers putty hardened, I filled the rest in with JB weld, and once that sat overnight, I have it a last touch up with the dremel.

I hear you. Luckilly drilling mine out bigger was a simple and effective fix for mine. But like you said, the gasins are likely very minimal, especially once youve already done bigger mods like headers and cam to compare gains to...

well i think the stock flow on my tb is gonna be pressed to meet the demanded air without lowering the friction start up airflow. that could be part of your trouble

Its a good sized cam, so I would expect some surging and the like on a cold start. Also, its a cam, its gona have a rich smell at idle because of the overlap, cats would help, but its there to stay unless you change cams to something with less overlap. My car has a strong gas smell to it, but belive it or not I acually have a lean idle.

Everything is bigger in texas, right?

I also have the same cam, and once I ironed out all the bugs and got a decent tune, I dont have much of any of these problems.
