There is a large difference between an MS3 and a T-rex. MS3 has 13.5* of overlap at .05, the T-rex has 25.
You WILL want a larger converter than 3200, mostly so that it can put you into the meat of the powerband. I had mine restalled from 3500-4000 after installing the MS3 and it launched much better.
Based only on the duartions a .05 the MS3 wouldn't be much rougher than what you are running right now. It may be bigger but the 113* lsa smooths it out a little bit.Not sure on the other variables though.
Before you bother switching cams get an LS6 intake manifold. The stock LS1 manifold is restrictive at any real rpm. With nothing but intake and SLP UD pulley (while restalling from 3500 to 4k) I picked up 42 rwhp.
As 777 pointed out I daily drive my car with 4k stall and MS3 and it's not bad AT ALL. There is an occasional idle or low rpm fluctuation shortly after startup but that's it.
Of course, the tune plays an integral part in drivability.

I'm running the MS3 completely untuned with an unported tb on my car right now. It absolutely hates cold idle and has some bucking and surging under 1500rpm, but even now it's easily driveable. Too bad I discharged the AC accidently when I was putting the radiator back in and my beater is out of comission for a day or two, it's going to be 102 in Albuquerque today. The heat is going to be the worst part of the drive home rather than the driveability of the car.
