Default LS6 Heads

I have the opportunity to pick up some used LS6 heads. They have only 3K miles on them and will cost $900 shipped to my door. I like the fact they have a very light valve train. Are these worth the price?

rev to 7k What the hell are u smoking.
I would not rev a stock bottom end past 6400-6600 maby. Hell my forged bottom end is not going past 6800-6900.
Yes get the heads then send them off to be ported. Why pick up 15-20hp when u can pic up 30-40hp at the ground.
What other mods do u have.

AdamSS Why in gods name are u running 42lb injectors.

I got 42# installed a few weeks ago. Past weekend I installed F10 cam+other goodies. (I don't want my injectors running nowhere near 100% efficiency.)
Some people run 400rwhp on stock injectors, and yea, it'll run, but you're really choking it...
With F10, my duty cycle at 6500 rpms should be ~65-70%, but in the future I plan on installing 75Hp dry shot of N20

Really thats about the going price for a set of used LS6 assembled heads. I wouldnt call it a steal or anything. Great core to start with. However you can go with a TEA or PRC head for $500 more and make better power and handle alot bigger cam. my .02

I agree with Xfactor.
But a set of 5.3's from TEA for 500 bucks more and make a easy 20 horse better. You will have better compression and the ported 5.3's kill the stock LS6 heads.

Also there is no reason not to run your car to higher RPM's.
Throw a set of rod bolts in there and spin here high is that is what the power tells you to do.
Now if you go FI or Nitrous I thing 6500-6600 whould be enough to keep me happy.
