Default ls6 service repacement install in fbody

Anybody got a writeup on the install for the LS-6 service replacement motor, PN: 12498399 in a 2002 Camaro Z-28. The motor has been bought already, I just need some insight,

pull yours out, swap parts that need to be swapped.. put new one in.

nothing special you have to do compared to the ls1 you have now.

Yep, it is a direct replacement. Small things such as the valley cover will need attention if you don't have them yet.

I've got a brief write up of the swap at my website: www.banddirector.cz28.com

I swapped one in to my '98 Z28, so there will be a few differences, but it's pretty much the same.

Here'a a write up on the differences between the LS6 and LS1 valley covers:

http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?article=18

The only thing you'd need to worry about when you get the LS6 longblock is the part in the article where it tells you to route a piece of hose for where the new PCV will need to be located too...it's at the bottom of the artilce's page. It really is very easy and will make perfect sense when you get the LS6. The new LS6 already comes with the valley cover installed, so you don't need to take anything apart on the new engine, and definitely don't need to cut any part of your new engine's block, so just ignore those parts of the article.
