What causes the #7 to go first?
my motor broke #s 5 & 7, between about 3" around and 1/4" deep between the top and bottom rings...on both pistons. it was a NA SI car though, just lots of RPM and apparently not enough fuel.
yup - end of the line on the intake manifold, and they probably get force fed more air! It would be interesting to see individual o2 readings on all 8 cylinders on an engine dyno.

hopefully with my new sheet metal manifold and direct port setup i will have the tunability to keep things even all the way around. not to mention the motor will be tuned initially on the engine dyno so that helps.

I broke #5 and #7 naturally aspirated... 12:0:1 compression, stock pistons, lots of timing, summer heat, and pump gas.... BOOOOOOM! Detonation is not a pretty thing.....
