Topic says it all, what causes the #7 cylinder to go first on a F/I car?

he too was running the stock bottom end. chipped off about 1" of the piston and the cylinder wall and sleeve were cracked.

my motor broke #s 5 & 7, between about 3" around and 1/4" deep between the top and bottom rings...on both pistons. it was a NA SI car though, just lots of RPM and apparently not enough fuel.

#7 and #8 tend to run the leanest.

yup - end of the line on the intake manifold, and they probably get force fed more air! It would be interesting to see individual o2 readings on all 8 cylinders on an engine dyno.

hopefully with my new sheet metal manifold and direct port setup i will have the tunability to keep things even all the way around. not to mention the motor will be tuned initially on the engine dyno so that helps.

I broke #5 and #7 naturally aspirated... 12:0:1 compression, stock pistons, lots of timing, summer heat, and pump gas.... BOOOOOOM! Detonation is not a pretty thing.....
