Seems I've taken out my thrust bearing - still investigating the cause.

My question is what bearings are the best main bearings? What about rod bearings - gonna replace them all while I have it apart.

I've noticed some builders use all one brand and some use different rod and main brands. Just wondering which are believed to be the best.

 

C&A, Clevite 77 and FM all produce consistent, quality bearings

 

Federal Mogul is the only manufacturer of LS1 main bearings that I'm aware of. For rod bearings, take your pick. I use Clevite H series always.
