Question NON LS1 Question about my Oil Change today

I just changed the Oil in my wife's car today.2003 pontiac Sunfire.The oil is Mobile 1 with 5000 miles on it.The car has 46000 miles on it have been doing M1 from 3000 mile on car.Now this is the First time I have seen this in this car,There was a quiteabit off aluminum shavings in the oil.Is this Normal?I dont remember ever having this in my LS1....Thanks....

well, shavings are never a good sign. did it run low on oil at any point? any weird noises?

No never ran low on oil,the motor sounds good(No off the wall noises).It doesnt seen to be using any oil either....

is it actual metal shaving or is it from the berings. like on the drain plug.

You could say it is actual aluminum shavings.I know what you are talking about on the drain plug magnet like in my LS1 a real fine substance.These are deffinately shavings
