Well, I haven't had a chance to get the download software from my Bro to post pics because i've been working like a dog. But I will.

One dissapointment is that there is no shop to flow test them. I will have to rely on the HP output and track time improvement I will be making.
I hope I get at least 25rwhp out of them on my combo, we shall see.

As for the install (I only slept 4 hours yesterday), but one side is done (driver), now If i don't collapse after my 12 hour shift, I'll finish it tonight, otherwise it will have to be after tomorow.

One Q though, I'm running stock rockers, has there been any interference issues with the stock rocker and PRC platinum spring kit retainers??? Kinda looks really tight when the valve is completely closed. (maybe i'm just used to the 918 (stock) retainer clearance.

I spent a month or so trying to decide between PRC and Tea. Finally decided on the Tea's due to feedback and quality. You said a retainer was stuck in one of the water passages?? There's no excuse for that. Is anyone doing final inspection on these heads besides the end user? Are they so behind on orders that they are rushing this stuff out the door? I like TSP and use one of their cams, but it seems lately there have been more and more complaints of no flow sheets on the heads and no cam cards being sent out with the cams. Wonder why that is? Sucks you couldn't have had them flow tested. Good luck with these, I hope they do what you want them to.

I finished it last night, but i was pooped, so I didn't start it. I was too tired to double check everything and I would rather do that one more time.

Everything good so far, I got tomorow morning off so it is start up time, fill radiator, couple of cool downs and hopefully off for a drive. 100 miles later, i will dyno.

All i have to say is someone should shoot GM engineers for placing that cowl so close to the motor with those spikes. You should see my hands, looks like I stuck them in a box with a freaked cat on PMS.

I have had good luck with Tony at AFR and Jason at TSP. THey both were very helpful with lots of questions and customer service.

Heh, I always spend an extra 5 minutes pulling the wiper blades and removing the cowl piece. It gives you a few extra inches of space and it keeps your hands from getting shredded to pieces.

Yeah, I know, but I've been really tired, 12 hour shifts + 3>4 hours on the car after that. The pain kept me awake though

Thumbs up

Well, I fired it up today.
gotta love that cam (Stealth II, 224/220, .581/.581 116 lsa, 116 ICL Comp XE-R, ramp rate 49), idled like a baby after a couple of fluctuation. Lots of light smoke in the engine bay as usual after a swap.

>coolant was topped, let it warm up, it seems a little noisier at first and then it went back to normal.

>Checked for leaks, none.

>Let it cool off for a couple of hours and fired it up again, took it for a little drive keeping things under 3500 rpm.

>Throttle response was much better, you can tell this thing is breathing now.
It sounded more nervous with the added compression.

> I took Tony Mamo's advice and was able to squeeze in a racing shop for a .010 mill to get rid of all the nicks and scratches. (dropped off went for a burger and picked them back 2 hours later, (as i say sometimes, who you know is more important than what you know )

>Still ran the graphite, the cometic did not look too appealing from the previous setup.
Estimated SCR at ~ 11.2:1 (by calculation)

>I will go through a couple more heat cycle tonight and then take for a ride the way it is meant to be driven.

Thumbs up further update

I went WOT a couple of times (1 from roll at 65mph and 1 from a dig)

From a roll: tires (285/30/18, YOKO AVS) went up in spin, zig zaging a good 30ft, (took me by surprise), took it all the way to 120mph in non ending hard pull. I let off to give it more time break in.
From a dig: spun hard, smoking tires, going nowhere. (ET streets needed for that)

All I can say is wooow, what a difference. Vig 3200 and 3:73's do not help on street tires.

On my G-Tech Pro, I recorded 436rwhp, that is a gain of 32rwhp live on the street (in serious heat), G-Tech has always been within 1% of dyno runs from previous measurements (on the higher side).

So my expectations of 25 rwhp gain from stock heads (241, ~10.5:1 SCR) to (PRC 2.5/5.3L, ~ 11.15 SCR) has been met and exceeded.

I'm very pleased with this swap.

Also, I was in need of 2 cats and a Magnaflow muffler and after e-mail communication to Trevor and Jason from TSP, they gave a sweet price to make up for having to spend on a mill.
They are truly one of the best customer service shop and men of their words.

As we all see from their recent thread on shop devellopments, they are dedicated to their mission and will stand behind their products.

I'm sure that the little imperfections I encountered will not be found, now that they have decided to take full control of the machining and finishing process on the PRC heads.

I will go to the track next month (need cooler weather) to run some 1/4's and I expect a .3 reduction in times. I will keep updating on this thread as time goes on.

That sounds great. How were you getting 10.5CR out of the 241 casting? Did you have them milled?

Not 241s, these are 5.3L heads.
