i knew it wouldn't be long before you put headers on it,lol.the modding never stops.FWIW,i have a SLP muffler,3" in,2-2 1/2" pipes out.i love the way it sounds with my headers and ORY,it's supposed to be one of the least restrictive mufflers on the market.congrats

As far as keeping the car stock with stock manifolds, I can always go back. But when my car makes 411 rwhp through the SLP dual dual catback and 410 rwhp through the cutout, it leads you to believe that the choke point of the exhaust is further upstream. Cutouts should gain something on a 400 horse motor, LOL.

Headers should alleviate the upstream choke point. Besides, I hate leaving power on the table. Since I'll be running cats and small cam, the car will still have supreme street manners...it will just sound a little more modified. Hey, somebody had to test all this to find out what was possible!
If it isn't much, Is it possible for you take before/after sound clips? I know for sure I'm going with this heads/cam combo, I just don't know if I'm adding a full exhaust to it, because I'm not a huge fan of "lope"..

Great numbers!

I have non equal length 1 7/8" primary long tube headers on my car with non optimized 3" collectors (not merge or even close) and Magnaflow 3" cats bolted up with a Magnaflow X pipe and dual mandrel bent 3" all the way back to 3" Magnaflows. I think the large primaries hurt my torque a little bit....

My cam is much larger than yours but it did make 439rwhp/385rwtq with cats in place thru the exhaust. AFR 205's, LS6 intake/ported TB, TSP 233/239 are my other mods and underdrive pulley.

I wouldn't think aftermarket hi flow cats will eat up much HP at all.

Great numbers once again. The FAST 90/NW90 combo is a pretty penny... but in your case the results speak for themself.

Update: with the addition of headers, I gained 22 rwhp and 11 rwtq. Nice gains considering the CheaTR cam was designed specifically for stock exhaust manifolds. I can now recommend the cam with confidence to anybody who is also running headers.

Pat your the man with these cars. Bang up job. I would not want to pull up next to you at a red light, that thing is a real sleeper. I would like to see someone do a setup like yours with a 402 LS2 block. Maybe Thunder should design a CheatR cam for a 402. I would like to see someone make 500/500 with a stroker motor and still have a tame cam in it.

Are you in Cali?

If not at least put MAC mids

Or if you have to, I think BBK does a 1 3/4 shorty, or Hooker Shorties 1 5/8 (you'll get some trq)

no illinois, its not the emissions but the noise the headers create. Plus they get in the way of the clutch. This is a C5 BTW, i dont think anyone makes mid length ones for us.
