They are 23 grams heavier than stock and I saw no gains over a Comp R. Its not to say its not a good lifter, but with what we have to run, and the rules we adhere to, 5 grams is a lot to me.

I'm not familiar with "every" racing organization's rules but I know a more stable valvetrain will make more power and over a greater span of RPM. That's why I prefer to use larger diameter and heavier wall push rods as well as stronger lifter bodies.

Though this link concerns push rods, pay close attention to the "weight" issues on that side of the rocker arm as it plays less of a role in harmonics vs the rigidness of the componants...

Push Rod

There is also a very good article in Popular Hot Rodding (I believe) that discusses Crower's effort to design and build a severe duty roller lifter. Though their design was a success, the racers did not take to the new technology.

Food for thought...

Based on feedback from customers who have used the Morel lifters, gains of 9 to 21HP are common with the Morels over other brands. Furthermore upper rpm stability is greatly improved with the Morels even though they are heavier. The Fuel lifter, pictured in this thread, is a 100gms heavier then any other lifter on the market for the application but since its intro in the year of '02 it has been in victory lane several times.

Louis. Did you run them in a car, or did you just weigh them and decide not to use them?

We're running them with a set of Jesel J2K's, and I'm much happier with them than I was with the Comp R's and stock rockers.

Yes I usually have them and I have been selling them for 450.00 although sometimes it's been hard to get them. I have one set right now and a few more coming.

Talking about weight, you also have the Schubecks, which are around 77gms. and $1000/set.
