Default To High of a compression A bad thing?

I was just wondering and this might be a stupid question but is it a bad thing to have to high of a compression, Like when u do a compression test with the gadge and it reads like 200psi I mean if the compression is too high will it damage the inturnals?

Yes, too much compression would cause a wide range of problems and a loss of hp and parts.
