Default Help!!! Flycutting?

Guys, a friend and I are in the middle of a pretty big cam install and already have flycut the pistons but don't know if they're cut enough. The cam is a Comp 242/248 .610/.615 111 lsa, heads are AFR milled .034 and we're going to use .040 Cometics. The intakes have been notched about .100 and the exhausts about .060. After claying intakes have about .080 clearance and exhausts .090, is .090 enough on the exhausts or should we cut more? I don't want to destroy this engine , my friend will KILL me . Help.

'Textbook' is .080" on the intake and .100" on the exhaust. The piston is chasing the exhaust valve up so that is why you want more clearance there.

You can get away with .080 on the intake and .090 on the exhaust. If you want, you can flycut another 20 thou without problems...

Do you think we should go deeper on the Exhaust? Maybe another .010. I have heard .100 is best. We have .090 now?

I have fly-cut mine just last week on the intakes (very similar cam) to about.125". Don't be afraid if you go over a little.... .105 or .110
