One of the more risky parts of a cam change (IMO) is the actual removal and re-installation since you are totally blind to what is lined up and what is not and it is possible to damage the cam bearings. So I decided to practice by making a little wood engine block with the holes for the cam that are a tight enough fit the cam won't go in until it is correctly lined up front to back. Hopefully, I will get real good at it before the fateful day arrives

Thanks EG, I put it to good use

as long as your are gentle and patient it will slip right in with no bearing problems. Just remember that when you feel it wont go any further, spin it or slightly wiggle it, but DONT force it

you wont screw anything up as long as your not jerking it around. my cam went in and out the first time i ever did it in about 2 min. just slight movements and nothing forceful wont damage anything. its a lot harder to dothan yuo think
