Default Cam swap ??????s

I have chromoly pushrods stock in length... i am doing the G5X4 cam
can i use stock length??? and should i go with 921's or something else??
And do i need shims for the valvesprings?? what do the shims do???

Shims are used to increase pressure by reducing the installed height.

Comp 921's are one of the best springs out there, and will work very well. You could also save some money by going with one of the associated duals such as PRC's. Should be no need to shim with either of them.
