Default T-Rex owners with stock heads come in !!

Will this cam go in with no piston flycutting or modifications? I ask because it says check PV clearance. So is this cam going in with no problems with stock heads?

thanks.....

I don't have a Trex but I was very close to getting one. I had spoken with TR and they told me as long as my heads were untouched the cam would clear. you can't mill your heads, or have larger valves.

Hope this helps

I just spoke to one of the techs at TR and im actually about to order the t-rex cam from him,.. the pistons do not need to be flycut if your running stock valvetrain with stock heads unmilled, however in my case im about to run the cam with a set of tea 5.3 60cc heads so the pistons will need to be flycut because of the larger 2.020 and 1.57" valves and bceause the deck hieght has changed. One thing you will want to look into is getting the 921 valve springs and shimming them between 60,000ths and 80,000ths coil bind to provide your valve train with 100% use of your springs. Also to rely on your springs not giving out on you every 10-15k on your motor. Also another good idea is before putting the cam in get a set of arp pro-series connecting rod bolts as reassurance that your stock ones will not give out on you bceause this cam needs to be reved to 7krpm to get its full potential out of it. From what i heard its a great cam and makes insane power with good tunning stock heads the car should spike 451 hp on stock heads,... GOOD LUCK

Also not sure if your running 4.10's but they are basically a must if you dont want the car to surge under 3500-4k rpms.

450rwhp Cam Only is very hard for me to believe.

I have a friend running the TRex, and it's an amazing sounding cam.

There are serveral people i know and heard of making ball park 440-451 hp with stock heads running this cam, its all in the tunning TR's tuner Jeff uses BFI Live to tune his cars and he got 451 out of jasons car and i believe rodney who holds the TR record for cam only car... You can call down to tr and i thkn jeff might send or fax a print out of the specs from those tunes, not positive on it tho.

When you guys say it will clear, what kind of clearance are we talking about? I put in a much smaller cam, that would clear, but with only .040-.045, so any valve float or over rev could spell disaster. I flycut to be safe.

I'm sure it would be fine for a weekend car. Hell I drive mine every day The 3500 stall may work for you, but to get the most out of this cam N/A you need 4000+ stall.

I was playing nice. There are many ways to figure out if that cam would clear: some simple algebra, a search, maybe a search, possibly another search or two...and possible an avatar change from the purple "tease" would be nice too.
