Ported heads question...

Default Ported heads question...

I used the high temp RTV GM sealant when I put on the intake rocker bolts...will that be fine? I jut put a little on the upper part of the threads.

Whats everyone else use for that?

Just goes to show that I stil have stock heads.

because they are ported, the bolt holes are exposed in the intake ports. if you screw the rocker arm bolts in you can see them in the ports...many ported heads are this way.


edit: i should have been more clear. the thread holes for the rocker bolts are exposed so they need to be sealed, the exhaust side does not have this problem.

You can antually buy a tube of thread sealant from the parts store instead of RTV. It's a teflon paste. You're probably fine with the RTV though.
