Default Squeeking Noise Coming for the Engine?

I rarely get on the engine since I've been having some pinging problems but about a week ago I noticed a squeeking sound coming from the engine. The old man thinks it sounds like a squeeking fan belt. Sounds like a bearing going bad (the best explanation I can come up with to describe the sound). After it gets nice and warm, the squeeking goes away and from what I can tell, isn't affecting performance at all. When I went to Vegas, it lasted a lot longer and was a bit more noticable. Here in Anaheim, it goes away after it gets warmed up and after I get on it a lil getting onto the freeway or something like that. Any ideas as to what I should have the mechanic look at? I'm pretty mechanicly retarted when it comes to doing the actual work but other than that I've read A LOT about these engines for well over 6 months now, however, that's a never-ending kinda thing . Any help is appreciated!

could be a fan belt "IF" the fan was belt driven. to bad it is electric,
could maybe be some the serp belt or maybe the AC belt slipping

lol wh00pse haha... mkay that narrows it down a lil bit... belt seems to be aligned alright - oh yah - one other small question - after I got the engine washed, my SES light came on - any ideas what to look for or an easy way to check what code it's throwing? I don't wanna have to take it down to a dealer just for a cheap error code... maby my Hypertech tuner might actually come in handy...

Not really internal engine...but

Often times one of the bearings goes bad in a tensioner or idler pulley. Sounds like a bad belt...but goes away when bearing heats up. I've replaced my serpentine tensioner, as well as both the idler and tensioner on my a/c belt.

I'm guessing the belt right now... sounds like a slithering snake that just gets faster as the RPMs rise... kinda like a string being spun around in the air very fast in circles.
