Default Built Bottom End

I wanna build my bottom end. What all do I need? What's the best stuff to get? Should I buy a kit for like $2200. Or should I piece the pistons, rods, and other stuff together? Where can I get these things from?

Thanks,
Justin

Or should I just buy a Forged short block?

You should just buy a forged shortblock. Send them your engine and they will build it. No need to buy a new block nor a new crank.

So, It would be easier and more cost effective to just buy the shortblock?

I would either send the block out to get built with the internals you want and balanced or buy a new shortblock and sell yours.

Buy a SLP 402 or a 402 from Texas Speed. Do not try to piece one together yourself. It cost the same money and would take you longer to do. Also build a 402 even if you use the iron block. Over a 383 the cost is the same except for the block.
