Default Anyone ever seen a block crack...

Anyone ever seen a block crack behind the liner - but not have the liner cracked? We pulled apart a motor today (built by the dogs, apparently) and there was crack in the aluminum wall, behind the liner, yet the cast liner was not cracked...WTF? Almost like this supposedly "new block" had been re-sleeved and during the sleeving process they cracked the aluminum wall.

Another oddity was that this liner was dropped down, at least several thousands, below the deck. I thought that these "cast in place" pieces could not do that.

Any insight appreciated.

The only cracked block I've seen was a resleeved that leaked and was hydro locking. Had 6 crack in different places around the block.
