Default AFR's are on and I have a push rod question ?

I got the AFR 205's on and the car is running great, I drove it about 400+ miles in the past week.

The issue I'm having is when it gets to normal operating temp the valvetrain is loud.. It sounds like a sewing machine cold but I think its a little beyond that when its warmed up, really more so at say 1500 rpm.

I'm thinking maybe I need a 7.45" push rod in lou of the 1.40" I have now to compensate for the aluminum expanding.

My heads aren't milled.

Any thoughts ?

well i know I did some shimming under the rockers to get it quiter. But w a big cam and stock rockers = sewing macine.

I did the wipe mark test and ended up with .060 worked best for centering. And helped a lil w noise.

You need fancy adjustable rockers to get them quieter.

So you adjusted the rockers up ? I was thinking they were too far up as it is, hence the reason for thinking I needed a longer PR.
I guess I need to figure out how to measure this stuff cold and hot.
What did you use to shim the rockers up ?

welcome to aftermarket mods. Almost everyone has the same complaint no matter which springs you do to.

Duals are the best, but wont help you noise. Have fun with it and live with it

I just bout a pack of comp rockre shims and a lil rtv silicon to hold em in place. Though if you havent done milling you should be running stock rods, but call some sponsors who build these combos

Or buy an adjustable pushrod for $20 from Summit and measure yourself.

.025 off on a pushrod can mean 30hp.
