optimal would probably be around a 6800 rpm shift point, but if you don't want to spin that high 6600-6700 would probably be alright...
just get it on the dyno and see like you said...but you will want that extra 200rpm in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th...

Thats the exact cam I run....my car wouldn't idle without tuning, wouldn't even start until we loaded a base tune in it.....but since your an M6 it might do better....the cam sounds damn nasty at idle....I don't have any sounds clips but there is a video here: http://www.incontt.com/videos/greg-sdr-9-25-05.wmv right click save as
I have my limiter set to 6500 and 1-2 shift is at 6200 and the 2-3 and 3-4 shifts are at 6350....both shifts stay just shy of the limiter....I know that I could spin it higher and make more power but I am still on stock rod bolts so I didn't want to chance it.....

I also have stock rod bolts too. I dont want to rev it up that much right off, plus my motor isnt a low mileage one. Sunday or Monday is when my buddy is going to tear it all apart.

Everything arrived today EXCEPT the cam but, it should be here Monday. My buddy ordered it all for me at his cost, and I guess he didnt get it all from one place. Not that it would have mattered if it all arrived today, the process wont start till Monday now at least.
