I can do that easy took the coils off for header install...they just bolt right back on?
I dont need silicone or a new gasket to reinstall-thats the part I was worried about, takes me 3-4 tries to get them back on my truck without any leaks.

Rob: the problem is that I dont know if it was lost or came off because I didn't do the install and don't know if they were all accounted for. Glad yours came out still intact...one of mine was chewed up on its way down.

Mine actually had just a lil nick at the bottom but i couldnt tell someone had to point it out. If the locks would have done any major damage you would know it by know, it would not be running right, it prolly would be smoking, you would know.
peace rob

Yeah, no gaskets need to be replaced. Unlike my friggen 3.4 where you have to pull off the plenum and EGR crap, all requiring replcing gaskets, which are very expensive each or can be bought in the Felpro kit which isnt cheap itself

man I love LS1's, my truck is a pita compared to my car Just unbolt them and bolt them back on...thats ridiculous, it's crazy how easy this car is to work on compared to others I've owned. I had to take apart half of my 305 just to put headers on it.

the bottom line is that it is rare for 1 keeper to hold a valve for very long, but if it were I the valve covers would be off and I would inspect the valves before the engine is started. If you drop a valve, 95% chance that you will trash the block, 1 head, 1 piston, and 1 rod (maybe).

I would not worry to much about damage done up to now just make sure that there are 2 keepers in place on each valve( must do) and no more floating around (less important).

Good luck
