To give you an idea of the oil path.
Especialy at a drag track or in high G's what I explained can happen.
pickup, pump, filter, lifter galley, cam bearings, mains bearings, rod bearings.

it's all a series path. Each cam bearing/main pair gets feed from the lifter galley.

rockers and springs get fed from the lifters.
Sorry for the shitty pic

i've seen small block fords that sucked the sump dry around 8000rpm on the dyno, seen it with my own eyes. it can happen, the likelihood is low, but at max rpm, anything can happen

Ls2 Timing chain, easy install, and the GM oil pump. At the dealer ask for the 05 LS2 GTO Timing chain, and the 03 Corvette oil pump, which is the upgrade to the oil pumps in our cars today.

sucking the area around the pickup in the sump dry is possible...seen it, sucking the pan dry...dont think so, with even the most high volume pump at 10000rpm under a extreme cornering or lateral acceleration run... sucking the pan dry seems impossible
