I was always under the assumption that if you bent a push rod you bent a valve too right? How else would you bend the push rod in the first place? So just swapping out push rods is just the solution to quieting down the motor. Aint nobody ever worried about piston damage? Let me know. --Ryan

In my case when I bent 3 pushrods I also bent 5 valves. Only ONE of those 5 was bent bad enough to cause a miss at idle.
So in my opinion, yes a lot of people that have bent pushrods have bent valves as well - just not bad enough to notice.

Yea,
I guess it's possible to bend a valve although highly unlikely, if your bending pushrods it means your turning the FUN METER up pretty high and pretty tight and the material like he said is too soft and the stress is too much for the material. My advise thats why companies like COMP have hardened push rods.
