hyd cam on solid lifter
hyd cam on solid lifter what do you guys think about putting a 243-249-114 hyd cam in a solid roller setup. there are mixed view, some say the hyd cam has an agressive ramp which would not be good on solid lifters and some say the opposite that solid cams have a fast ramp. bit confused. can you please shed some light on this matter. considering that this is a race engine and that it will be rebuild frequently, power wise would it be feasable to use this cam. or has anybody done any experiments on this?

Why not just use a set of Morel hydraulic roller lifters, the right spring package and adjustable rockers? Good for more RPM than you can imagine!

i have the morel solid roller lifters and crane 1.8 adjustable rockers. what do you think? should i go with this setup or purchase bigger solid roller cam. my opinion is that this setup will be better. i am also using 250hp nos.

With the increased rocker ratio, you'll want something designed with that in mind...

actually I was reading about doing the exact samething in the newest hot rod mag. I think that was what it was, they (COMP) said you could do that but you had to be real careful with the lash on the rockers you may want to find that book and read the articall. had alot of info on doing this and putting HYD s on a solid roller cam.

Verdad Gallardo i have just started the car with 243-249-114 hyd cam on a solid roller setup with 1.8 ratio rockers, done the lashing, and the car revs like crazy above 4000rpm. low end power and torque in my opinion are excellent. too bad we dont have a dyno here that can measure over 400hp, but the car feels very good. its like it wants to rev to 8000rpm 
. but i still want opinions on, if i should use a real solid roller cam such as 250-260-114 with about 0.600 lift with 1.7 rockers. my setup is 435LS1 extreme lightweight assembly, ported heads 255cc, FAST90mm, custom made headers larger than KOOKS, drysump.
